Look no further. Well, maybe just a little bit. I wrote up my recipe for pommes à la dauphinoise, aka gratin dauphinois, for the Recipe of the Month at Girls’ Guide to Paris. Here’s the before picture…

Lovely – in all ways!
Camille! Funny story – I’m back in Boston and entertaining some guests Saturday night. I wanted to make roast chicken and came to your website to see if you had a gratin recipe – and two days later you have pommes a la dauphinoise. Bravo – you have helped a girl out 🙂
Pommes à la dauphinoise is hands-down my favourite way to eat potatoes. This looks gorgeous.
Nanan – Thank you!
aimee – Hi! So glad to hear it!
foodie and the chef – Thanks, it’s one of my favorites, too.
Looks heavenly, and that “after” picture is so lovely!
Camille – this is comfort, delicious and healthy all in one dish. A definite must for this weekend. Thankyou!
Gorgeous, Camille! And congrats on a lovely post for the Girl’s Guide!
What gorgeous looking comfort food (just checked out your complete post).
I gave up potatoes a few years ago but sneak in a taste once in a while. I would never be able to resist if this was part of the dinner table!
Love a before-and-after picture! Great article. This is also my favourite way to cook potatoes – I sometimes add in preserved artichokes, their leaves separated, to lie between the potato slices – an idea from an Australian chef Kate Lamont. Amazingly delicious.
hungry dog – Fortunately, my husband is a much more talented photographer than I…
Virginia – You’re welcome!
Ann – Thank you!
Grapefruit – I could never give up potatoes!
Fiona – I know, it’s so easy and so good. The artichoke idea sounds really interesting. I’m looking forward to playing around with that come spring…
I thought I could never give them up but I went cold turkey & it lasted at least 2 years. Lately I have less self-control!
I am going to have to try this with our remaining potatoes from last summer. We are so in need of a new potato recipe!
Grapefruit – I can’t imagine. You have incredible willpower!
Inger – Glad I can help! 🙂
Pop on over I have another potato recipe you may never have tried.
Esme – Thanks, I will!
We just tried this and are in love–so easy and delicious. Blogged here: http://artofnaturalliving.com/2011/03/20/amazing-potatoes-au-gratin%e2%80%94no-cheese/
Inger – That’s great news! I’m headed over to read it now.
